Once upon a time there was just an ordinary 1970's built apartment house in the suburbs. One time the habitants were having dinner on the top ground apartments. Whilst the merrymaking a wish came up among the habitants to enjoy the landscape more often – this way the common room would also have a lot of use. The idea turned into action. The housing cooperative built a festive scenery room on the roof top, which was funded with the revenue of small houses which where built at the closed end of the house. At the same time was a long-wanted activity area constructed on the yard replacing an unused piece of grass. The old and the new habitants as well as the whole finnish society profited from all of this: compaction of the community structure is ecology at its best.
